Episode 37: Always Be Kind (featuring Chad Evans)
Updated: Sep 4, 2019
With a focus on legacy over currency, you can accomplish anything.
You never really know what to expect when you randomly Facebook message an old business acquaintance you did work with almost three years ago. Thankfully for me, Chad Evans is a stand up dude. He agreed to indulge me in an interview and we had a great time - listen to the full thing here.
Once I got over the fact that my voice would never sound as professional Chad's velvety radio voice, the conversation was truly effortless. I was struck by a few things he said about growing up here in Central PA and what that meant for his perception of life after high school and expectations for a job - an outlook I think most of us can relate to.
Like several of my guests, I absolutely respect Chad's hustle. After putting 17 years into a corporate radio position, and climbing that ladder damn near to the top, he decided to take the leap of starting his own business. Check out Stone State Entertainment.
Chad's advice for running a successful business (aside from our cash flow conversation and his comment about finding a good accountant) really apply for anyone interested in being a great human being. Hopefully that's all of you. He spoke of placing a focus on legacy instead of currency and on an attitude of service and gratitude. By putting these ideals first, people will always remember you, and subsequently your brand, in a positive light. Ultimately leading to repeat business and referrals.
