Episode 20: Car Buying Emotions

Why is it that we grow so attached to material objects?


That's the question this podcast episode tries to answer.


Recently, I had to say goodbye to my 2013 Ford Fiesta. It was the first car I had purchased new and the first car I had purchased alone.


My first car was a 1999 Honda Civic EX coup. The color was Midnight Black Pear, and with only two doors and a spoiler, I thought I was hot stuff. I bought it with 98,000 miles on it and drove it until it had 150,000 and the electronics started shutting off while I was driving.


It seems as though are cars come to represent more than just a mode of transportation. They mark significant portions of our lives and so many milestones and big moments happen with their involvement.


So closed is the chapter of "young-twenties" Myles. I've gone from a sub-compact driving guy to a dad with an SUV that is big enough to fit the car seat and the dog and the family suitcases for vacation.


Time marches on!
