Episode 14: Fulfilling, Emotional, Fun (featuring Ali Ferro)
Updated: Sep 4, 2019
From Lake Wallenpaupack, Pennsylvania to the bright lights of Nashville, Ali Ferro's journey hasn't always been glamorous.
Like many of the guests on this podcast, I met Ali freshman year at Lycoming College. If you don't know her, she can be intimidating. Not because she's scary - but because she's so incredibly nice! She and Claire were roommates junior and senior year so our paths and friend groups constantly overlapped.
Ali did something senior year that was almost unthinkable to the average 21-year-old. She left the bubble of college early! Where most kids would have milked the freedom and security of campus, instead of graduating a semester early, Ali chose to path less traveled.
And on top of it, she moved to a city where she had no family or friends. For me, this is one of the bravest things someone can do. Life is hard enough with a support system, let alone without one near by.
But, Ali being who she is, she's flourished and gone from knowing no one to making a true name for herself. But, like I said at the beginning of this, it wasn't always glamorous. She had to overcome some pretty large obstacles to get where she is at now, and I love the outlook she shares on life in this episode.
