Episode 47: Innovative, Effervescent, Empowering (feat. Lambda Chi Alpha's Chop Talk Podcast"
Updated: Sep 4, 2019
Taylor, Jaren and Mike are chopping down the stereotypes of fraternity men.
I am a Lambda Chi Alpha Brother.
There, I said it. I was one of those Sperry-wearing, horseshoe-playing, light-beer-drinking guys blaring music on the quad.
You got me.
I was also Captain of the swim team, a member of student government, Vice President of the Inter-Fraternity Council, President of my fraternity chapter, Assistant Manager of the on-campus radio station, on campus intern, off campus intern . . . blah blah blah. Now I just sound egotistical.
But, let's make the point clear.
Not all people in fraternity life are bad guys. The system gets a bad wrap from some, albeit very bad, apples. But it's about so much more than partying. It's about community service, friendship, family, personal growth and development and being part of something larger than yourself.
This episode is an interview of the hosts of Chop Talk, the official podcast for Lambda Chi Alpha. Tackling stereotypes is their thing. We covered a few here in this episode, and they also interviewed me for their show - check that out here.
