Episode 11: Work Isn't Everything (featuring Danielle Biggs)
Updated: Sep 4, 2019
Danielle Biggs has figured out the balance between work, life and everything else.
I think people often misconstrue the intentions of someone who consciously chooses to separate work from the rest of their lives.
In our hyper-connected culture - where everything from our phones and watches, to our thermostats and speaker systems are "smart" - it's hard to not bring the office home with you.
In fact, it's almost become the expectation.
Most companies provide their employees with phones and computers, where the IT department syncs email accounts and enable VPN access to the company servers.
Raise your hand if you check emails before you go to bed and right when you wake up in the morning. . .
That's what I thought!
It was refreshing to hear Danielle have such a grasp on her identity. She's not defined by her job, her title, or any sense of work place status. Which is admirable. And healthy!
More of us need to focus on who we are as human beings versus who are are as employees. Listen to her words and take a little bit of wisdom with you after you're done.
